Helix DP /w Stock Catback Leak

I just bolted up the Helix Downpipe to my stock catback. It leaks at the very top of that 2 bolt flange. Does anybody know how to solve that problem? I've tried tightening it as much as I could, but it still leaks at the very top.

Yeah, I used the new gasket that came with the downpipe.

Yeah, I tried to adjust it at work today.. but it didn't work. It was a donut gasket and it looked like a perfect fit, but it still leaks at the very top. I guess it is because the DP is 3" and it is mating to a 2.5"(?) catback. Any solution to it?

You could get a catback? Or find a 3'' to 2.5'' pipe that goes from the downpipe to the axleback.

Take your car to a muffler shope and have them weld a flange onto the cat-back. That's what I had to do. They just welded a 3" flat flange that necked down to 2.5" onto the cat-back and everything fit perfect.

get a new cat back that or get a new mid pipe. i have the oposite set up as you ( stock dp to 3"+ catback) and theres no leak issue. maybe check your hangers too the stock ones are way soft and your catback might be hanging down causing the top to leak... some upgraded ones will solve this too.

I have heard the helix downpipe doesn't mate up to the stock exhaust as well, something about the design, especially b/c its so much bigger then the pipping on the stock exhaust.

Best bet would be to mate it up to an aftermarket catback or get a custom flange for your stock catback.

Helix DP does match up with stock cat-back. You can either purchase a 2.5 inch gasket or use different nuts and bolts instead of the spring ones.
