Yes having a catted DP will be louder than stock. I have the SPT catback and it definitely got louder with the Helix catted DP installed. Even the uppipe gave it a bit more of a growl(did this a couple weeks before the dp went in). Nothing too serious, its pretty much exactly as loud as I want it. Not sure how the stock exhaust sounds with a catted dp. I've read you'll lose anywhere from 5-10 hp having a cat in there vs not having one.

I am not sure about 5-10, i would think you would only lose like 2-4 hp because the high flow cat is not that restrictive. I have a helix catted dp with a gutted uppipe and a stock catback. Rightnow it is really lout in the cabin with a lot of rumble but the thing is i dont have the o2 sensor in yet. I get it in today so i will post how it sounds when it is all fixed. But no mater what catback you have, when you add a dp with or without cat it will be louder than stock but usually it is just loud in the cabin and not outside.

ok here is the deal, i got my car done today and the sound is not very much different from stock. I do not hear that boxxer rumble or anything, not even at wot. all i hear is my turbo spooling up so fast it makes my ears hurt. THe exhaust is not that loud but with a gutted uppipe, helix catted dp, and a perrin sr intake you can hear the turbo spool from 4 blocks away. I was a little dissapointed that the exhaust did not sound that great but i got over it when i heard the turbo. Once i get my catback it should be a lot louder.

when you get your catback PM me and tell me which one you got and how it sounds. I am very uncertain of which catback i want to go with. I really like perrin products but i heard that they are extremely loud which i could care less about but i dont want my parents to know that i am building a speed machine!!
