Question White Smoke...yet again

I read the other thread regarding white smoke but I didn't want to steal any of his thunder so I started my own thread in hopes of getting more responses.

While I was at a light today I noticed some very translucent white smoke coming out of my hood scoop. It would go away and then I would rev the engine some to see if more white smoke would come out, sure enough more white smoke would come out and as the engine would idle the white smoek would go away.

So I get home pop the hood and rev the engine and I notice the white smoke is coming form the turbo area, not exactly sure along the turbo area it's coming from but it's looking like it's coming from below the turbo.

I read the other thread regarding whie smoke and I'm thinking that maybe it is a gasket/seal that is no longer any good so I'm getting a leak? I just wanted to know if that is what you ppl thought?

BTW I drive a 03 WRX sedan, it has a borla hush, STI v.7 up, and snorkel removel done to it. This is the stock turbo and it has ~61,000 miles on it. I just recently had the 60K service done on it. I'm wondering if it's time to replace the turbo, or do you guys think this is just simply a gasket replacement?

Thanks guys

Jason

I've got the same problem!

I have an 02 WRX, It seems to happen when I let the engine idle for more than a few minutes. I get smoke from the Turbo area under the hood and out the tailpipe.
(It creates lots of fun in drive-thus!) I haven't figured out what the problem is yet. I figure its probably a bad seal in the turbo or maybe bad valve seals. My car is box stock with 62k miles on it.
