Headers?
I have recently put on an up - pipe. I was wondering, if it is neccessary to purchase headers and will they give me much more performance in comparison to the stock headers?
Thanks in advance

it will help with better flow with the exhaust I don't have aftermarket headers on but my friend with an 03 bugeye said he noticed a significant difference (aftermarket headers being smoother and better).
If you do decide to get headers dont get equal length headers cuzz it will take away from the boxer engine sound

hope it helps

I had Invidia headers on my 03 wrx. To tell you the truth I think that the money could of been spent better. They are equal length which is the only way to go to get the performance out of them. Dyno's have proved that non-equal length fall short when compared to equal length. Yes you do lose the boxer sound. I would look at other options before deciding to go with headers. Let me put it this way, I just finished my 430 hp hybrid and I went with ported stock exhausts and love it.

I'd worry about doing a downpipe, exhaust, turbo...etc before you worry about the headers. They do help but not enough to come ahead of some more punch per dollar mods. Shoot I'd get an SPT intake first.
Another thought is too look into having your stock ones port/polished by crucial. I have port/polished/cated stock exhaust manifolds with injen cross pipe. I did notice it help and it'll do more with a tune...
Honestly...do that after you get a lot of the other goodies available.
