Yeah, I was going to suggest that but I really dont know much about this stuff. To reset the ECU all you have to do is disconnect the negetive battery terminal and press the brake pedal for about 5 seconds. It's worth a shot, I guess.
well, i disconnected the battery, but i didnt press the brake pedal down (i did let it sit for like an hour and half tho, that should drain everything out right?) hooked it back up and took it for a spin, still only getting .05 thru third. could the boost gauge be defective or somthing? it was installed by the previous owner of the car, so who knows if they did somthing wrong

I think, as you have also come to realize, that your car was modded. The resistor mod for the EGT in the up-pipe and the samco blue intercooler hoses under your intercooler are proof of that. Anyways take it to the dealership and have them look at it, most obvious thing to check for would be a defective boost guage but obviously you are not going to have one sitting around. Maybe you could ask a friend who has one and see if you could borrow theirs. In the future, if you want to reset your ECU do what AWNS79 said that would be the best method and least time consuming. Since the up-pipe obviously has been tampered with (resistor and intercooler hoses as evidence), you might want to find out what else has been changed in the car. Eg: up-pipe, down-pipe and catback or Turbo back exhaust..... may be the turbo is not stock or the ECU doesn't have the stock map ...... Good Luck .... fill us in on what you find out ...
Going back to this pic
and looking at pics from the 3/16th mod install page at scoobymods, shouldnt I have a restrictor somewhere in that hose that comes off of the T? cuz it would just appear that i have just one length of hose running from that t, into wherever it goes...i dont seem to see any restrictor in there
Also, could anyone tell me if theres a way to know if the air silencer removal mod was done to the car w/out actually ripping everything out and looking? I dont know if the person who owned the car before me did it or not. How loud should the turbo be w/ the silencer removed? cuz i can hear it now when i get on it, but do you hear it pretty good w/ the silencer in?

You are running off of wastegate pressure. Check to see if you have an orfis, a little metal pellet, in the vacuum tube off of the turbo. I had the same problem wrong when I bought my MY02 WRX and same boost problem.

Im thinkin this may be my problem. i may have to run out tomorrow and get a 3/16ths coupler to try and put in there..i know theres mixed feelings about this mod, but im not gonna keep it, i just wanna see if it'll raise my boost any...cuz there definently needs to be a restrictor in there, and i dont see any
ok, well I went out, and bought a 3/16th's connector, cut the hose where about the stock restrictor would be, put it in, disconnected the battery, stood on the brake for about 15 seconds, then took her out...still nothing. I do peg about .06 now on the gauge tho, before id just spike off of it and go back down to .05. i went all the way thru third and halfway into 4th but it never went above .06
