22, sounds real good, thats well below MSRP, and with up comming 2004 WRX, you can most defintly work the dealer.
www.edmunds.com, you can find msrp there or go to www.subaru.com and build one and look at the price and compare

Let me tell you why I couldn't get the WRX, but instead got the 2.5RS:
went to local Subaru dealer. White WRX was sitting there w/ a $27,000 sticker. BBS wheels and everything. my budget was around $20K, give or take a few thousand...that's how I ened up w/ my silver 2.5RS for $21,000, which i think is still a bit expensive. I'm just mad cuz i could've gotten an 02 WRX for $18K but of course, no warranty.
so, to answer your Q, $22K for any WRX sounds good to me.

$22,000 is a decent price, but keep in mind that it is an '02 and is nearly 2 years old. I have seen some "leader adds" in the newspaper advertising '03 WRX's for about $21,000, but they were stick shift. $24,000 is also not a bad price for an '03 automatic. Just shop around to try and get the lowest price! And do your homework on dealer cost/MSRP. Check this AAA site below...

Shop around first for the best price. If you want the best price though... wait til the 04 model comes out and wait it out about a few days or weeks after it comes out then go to ur dealership. The 02-03 models should drop in price slightly due to new model being out.

I just paid 22,500 for an '02 Saturday, but I've come to suspect he mighta dropped to 22K.
It was the last '02 in the North Texas area. The guy knew it was gonna sell to someone if not me. Took me forever to get him to even discuss lowering the price.
Worth every penny though

both of those sound like pretty good prices, although as someone esle mentioned i would opt for the MT.
but now it seems like a good time to buy. i just saw last night that subaru dropped the APR again to 0%. seems like they're really trying to push the 'old' models now. i've seen more wrx commercials lately than i ever have.
