has anybody attempted the egt sensor removal from their aftermarket up pipe?
has anybody attempted the egt sensor removal from their aftermarket up pipe?
To make a long story short, going in for a tune next week, tuner told me to remove the egt sensor from the up pipe.
Now im at a stand still trying to get this sucker out. I used half a bottle of liquid wrench and still it wont budge without rounding off the edges of the bolt.
A plan of attack i have thought of is using a dremel to get the thin metal insulation that the wire is covered by out of my way to get a 6 point wrench in there, or even a gator grip socket.
Does anybody else have ideas?
Thanks

I had same problem before. That EGT sensor body is very thin, might not come out unless you bring it to a exhaust shop to heat it up with blow torch. Good luck! I ended up buying a new UP.
I also was thinking of removing the DP and using a thin cheater bar. That sensor is just in a funky spot.
I just removed it today! Boy its a killer! Size 14mm 6point open socket The craftsman set!!! I cut the metal stem sticking out and slip the socket in use a pry bar against the turbo and ratchet and got it to spin just enough to use my hands!!!
I cheated and took it to my buddies shop
its much easier to access the up pipe when the car is in the air. Im sure if you threw an exhaust shop 20 bucks theyd let you use their lift for half an hour
