Fuel Injector Balancing & Blueprinting?
Anyone do this to their stock WRX injectors???
http://www.rceng.com/service.htm
"Any set of fuel injectors will benefit from RC Engineering's clean and flow service, This is even true of new injectors because the individual-injector and system-total fuel flows must be known for performance tuning purposes. It is not uncommon for a set of original equipment (OE) injectors to have an unacceptably wide range of fuel flow and it's possible to even have new injectors that do not function properly. RC's standard testing process identifies those problematic injectors."

Because the guys that are just making crazy power haven't needed to have this done. But if you are going crazy mad thats a different story.
I seriously wouln't worry about it. But how much HP are you planning on making? Presently I have around 280 and want to go to 300 max. I will probably get a fuel pump and injectors.
What will their service tell you about your injectors? What if they aren't what they call ideal? Will you send them back to the dealer and get new ones to then send back and get them tested again? I would think only the totally serious racers would need this but I may be wrong. Its always nice to see different stuff.

I am thinking about it
I am considering it, but haven't decided if I can afford the extra $100.
New in the box injectors can vary in output by 6% - 8% I understand, and I've heard of as much as 15% variation as a worst case.
I have also heard of new injectors being leakers, (ie they never fully shut off, but drip a little)
If you end up with unbalanced injectors and the leanest injector ends up in the cylinder that needs the richest mixture, you end up giving away some power ( and gas milage) because you have to tune rich in all the other cylinders to keep from melting the lean cylinder.
I guess it depends on how close to the edge you want to get.

Huh? Optimze your stock ones? Unless you ahve been running sugar in your gas tank, theya re "optimized" from the factory. This is great for a car with 150k miles on it...and even then, its iffy, asuming the owner maintained the car and ran the proper fuel in it.
