Balancing & Blue Printing my ej20?

Does anybody do this? When I had my chevy 327 Balanced and blue printed I picked up 11 horses and the motor could turn more R's. Is this possible with the flat 4?

Don't worry, the factory does it for you.

Not sure how strict the factory is on the actual specs. I find it hard to believe that a mass-produced engine is "spot on."

Really think all the combustion chambers are exactly within .5 cc?

It would be nice to get all the tolerances for the EJ20.

Not only would it get you more HP, but also quieter, cooler running and better MPG.

When I build race engines, most of the time is spent double checking cam timing, bearing clearances, valvetrain geometry, ring gap, oil-runoff, etc. But we are talking nearly 100hp per liter nat. aspirated air-cooled.

I think if you have the resources, it would be worthwhile.
