Fuel Cut?

So I'm rolling down a local enclosed dragway tonight.. with my buddy in an sti in hot pursuit.. and I'm doing the martian speed limit.. and some 2.5 rs with what I THINK was just exhaust doubles that limit.. and takes off.. I'm thinking he either hit spray.. or had something else.. but.. my almost dead stock clutch.. is barely gripping with my p/p 20g... I mean practically dead.. and I experienced fuel cut at 5500 rpms in 4th gear.. WTF

Any ideas? STi injectors, 255lph pump, stock rails.. maybe I should get stockers cut/flowed to 740cc and some rails?

Or should I just go cylinder flowed 785ccs from ultimate racing and do some tuning?

Are the Stis enough for my setup? It seems fine elsewhere in the power band?! What the hell am I hitting

Should I go bigger maf as well? Or should I be set with the stocker?

I'm just at a loss here.. not because I had some flyby in my martian dream planet.. but.. because my car should be putting down some good numbers.. and well.. frankly.. i feel its lacking pizazz.. and yeah.. compression checks okay.. 180+ in all cylinders...
p.s.. the above happened on a martian planet in my dreams where kings and queens skip naked merrily.. but.. the actual situation.. that occured to my vehicle is real.

Regards,
G

Fuel cut can occur for a lot of reasons. Did you get a CEL at the same time? If so, it could be a boost spike. If not, it could be a clogged fuel filter unable to deliver at high pressure or any number of things.

Your location says 356 whp. Is that what you are putting down with a 20G and pink injectors? What dyno was that on and what grade of gas? What are you running for engine management? Your dyno plot should have included an A/F graph - let us know where you are across the powerband, but especially around the 5500 mark where you had a problem.

See if you can find a friedn who has Delta Dash to do some loggin for you. I'd be curious to see your injector duty cycle numbers. That will let you know if the pinks are maxed out or not.
