Which is better, using a regular car-back exsaust system, like the scoobysport, or HKS, or going to an exsaust shop and getting straightpipe with a can?

You would probably end up spending as much money having a shop make you a custom piece and fitting it as you would buying a nice aftermarket model. Sure, the benefit of a custom job is that it's specific to your exact car, but aftermarket fit is generally good across the board anyhow IMHO. Just my 2psi...

 

A catted Perrin is 560 and I run mine with the stock cat back. Great power and very quiet.
