Exhausts manifold / headers heat shield
To anyone how has aftermarket exhaust manifold,
Did you guys heat shielded any of the coolant line near the manifold? The one I got came with some heat shield wrap for some of the coolant line under the engine. I haven’t got around to install them yet. How bad is it to run without the coolant line protected?

I'm talking about all the coolant hoses under the engine. I believe there are 3 that are connected to the water pump, and 2 for the oil cooler. The header I got came with insulating material for wrapping those coolant hoses.
So how bad is it to not install them?

Well like I said I have my header installed and I DO NOT have anything wrapped other then the header themselves. However I wrapped the header for the sole purpose of reducing lag.

header heat
I have had the cusco headers for almost two years...they come with heat shields that are mounted on the headers via nuts. Well about a month after the install the studs holding the heat shields cracked and so i removed the heatshields...been well over a year. To date I have not had any issues with hoses melting or the heat warping anything..
