Exhaust Help
Ok I have a tanabe cat back system on my WRX. I want to do maybe an uppipe or downpipe. I am not to familiar with the system yet. I am looking for more power but I don not want to remove my cats or change my emmissions in any way, Massachusetts law are strict on emmisions. Anyway what brand do you recommend getting, and will an uppipe and downpipe affect my emmisions? Is this something I can change in my garage or should it be taken to a shop. Thanks alot

There are downpipes with "high flo" cats that you could buy for example. Turboxs makes em as well as other companies. You might want to check with the guys in your local area if there is a visual inspection of the up-pipe or not though.

I know California Smog guys dont even know what an up pipe is, I asked them when I had my car smoged :P I was like can you find and point out the up pipe, they were all like huh? oh yea this is a turbo, they still couldnt find the damn thing with every guy there looking :P so i wouldnt be to conserned about it. also KEEP your old up pipe just incase! dont Ebay anything from your car KEEP IT ALL, you will thank me later!
