Good try, yeah all the wrx engines sound like that when cold. I believe I heard someone attribute it to valve slap? Not too sure how that one works but anyway so long as after it's warm it doesn't sound like that I'd say it's normal. Dude, our engines make so many wierd noises I was freaking out over everything at first too... From leaves rustling to whooshing and whining, now I just realise it's in the car's nature to make wierd, no no, COOL noises.

 

yea the car does make a ****load of wierd noises. in my case, for a car with 10+k miles on it, it seems to creak/whine/whistling/screech a lot.
