my buddy just bought an ebay generic up and down pipe for his suby (i told him it wasnt the best idea ) i took a look at them and can tell the welds are **** me being a pretty good tig welder or at least i can do better then the current weld im redoing all the welds to make them stronger and less likely to crack i was wondering if this will really make any difference and what other problems will he run into

 

the downpipes are fine no problems with them the uppipe usually the flex sections suck.. had a friend that bought an ebay up with the flex and it fit sucked it was too big the end on the flex section would rest on the power steering pipe just ate the cost and bought a stock sti for dirt

Just be careful when buying on eBay.
As for the uppipe any aftermarket one for your car
will work fine.Most people don't want to bother gutting
the cat off the stock OEM up pipe since it can be a PITB lol.
You should definitely consider a good name brand downpipe though.
