which down pipe should I install Perrin or Helix
Help a noob please...
I'm in NorCAL...02 WRX Wagon currently running COBB V1 Stage1 with AEM CAI...
I want to run Stage 2 with the parts listed below that I already have, just not installed yet...what would be the best combination that is somewhat CA "friendly"
-Grimmspeed ceramic-coated up pipe (not EWG)
-Helix CATTED down pipe
-Perrin down pipe divorce wastegate)
-BPM Twister catback
- XO2 turbo back exhaust (catless DP)
(what I don't install, I will sell)
So..I know I will get more HP and torque if I go catless throughout...but are there any advantages going the catted Helix route?
I can only assume that my CEL won't go off...even if it does, my COBB AP can clear it...same for the Perrin catless?
Please enlighten...

I'd got catless... And honestly the power gains will not be too significant of your running stg2 Cobb map between catless or not. Get a custom tune then you will see a real difference

Im on the same deal as you,Can not decide on what down pipe to get?So i have a question to add aswell. If we are to do a catted down pipe will it pass smog on the stock map?So far im leaning toward a catted one and the Cobb Sf intake.,And as Javirex23 i may be going to get a tune from a shop because i just got a Cobb AP and it messed up mu ECU and now my car is sitting in my drive way while my ECU and AP are being shipped to cobb to find out why it will not go into test mode or revert back to the stock map

whats smog ?
even catted aftermarket d/p wont pass visual.
so just say screw it, smell the fumes and get the perrin pipe. i've always had the best experience with perrin products.
their welding is flawless and everything fits perfectly!
also the flanges are nice and thick and won't warp on you after a few hot/cold cycles.
perrin imo
