CEL come on when "silencer" removed?

get the code pulled, i think autozone does it for free, or find a buddy with a obdii scanner

I am sorry i am not sure what you mean by "getting the code pulled"?

 

he means if you have a cel on now, go to autozone, and have them find out what it is, and remove it.

 

oh ok, no i dont have it now, i am going to take the silencer out this weekend

i had that problem, but once you drive it for a while it should turn off by itself. have fun.

 

When I removed the silencer I removed the airbox, and the Mass air flow sensor I unpluged and turned on the car without pluging it back in *shame on me* so the ECU thought there was no MAF sensor and freaked out. I imediatly turned off the car when I saw it come on :P if you get a CEL light just check the plug and get it reset

 

Same thing kinda happend to me when I was installing a CAI (I took off the CAI so don't worry I'm back to stock box). I had the MAF unplugged and I turned on the electrical system so I could turn the wheel, and when I went to start the car the CEL came on. Freaked me out, but then I remembered that I had turned the car on with the MAF unplugged. Reset the ecu and have been fine ever since, well ever since I got rid of the CAI and just did the silencer mod.

You will definitely be driving around with the radio off now. You will hear the turbo spool and the woosh from the blow-off under moderate throttle but not WOT.

i took it out last weekend, no CEL so thats great.
