Do Silencers work?
Hello fellow Suby owners.
I have a 2002 WRX with headers /uppipe and Cobb catted Downpipe. I used to have my Perrin Dual Tip exhaust on but now running stock DP and exhaust because I got a fix it ticket. I'm running silent now but miss the power I lost. If I put silencers on help with the noise?

Silencers do cut down on noise. They wouldn't exist is they didn't. They do also cut down the power as well. Silencers are also generally only made for exhausts that have straight through mufflers with large tips.

I had an Acura GSR that came with a fart can.
Slapped on a silencer and it did nothing at all as far as I could tell.
Needless to say, I traded it for a stock exhaust.
