Question Divorced Wastegate VS Bellmouth?????

Does anybody have a mechanical description of why one is more efficient than the other... Obviously either one is a great improvement over stock... Just trying to understand which is more efficient and more importantly WHY...

Any takers?

I have the bosal divorced downpipe on my car and love it. The purpose of the divorced downpipe is to seperate the exhaust from the turbo outlet and the wastegate so they meet up farther down the downpipe to create less "turbulence" allowing for less restriction. Honestly I don't know think either design is going to show significantly better gains than the other. The bellmouth downpipe is just as good in my opinion. Just start looking for a good price!

if you want to go for the divorced wastegate, a cheap way is to buy an HKS downpipe, and then take it to a muffler shop and have then drill and weld a pipe from the wastegate to about ahlfway down the downpipe... probly around 50 bux, so thats a good alternative, considering that i bought the HKS brand new for 155...

I had a helix bellmouth along with helix flex up and I loved it, huge noticable gains in mid and top end with the dp and a little faster spool with the up, even with the stock catback. Unfortunately I got paranoid and sold it, I'm currently looking for a shorty dp to keep a cat and be a little more legal, or just not as visually obvious.

I concur with your previous setup, its what I want the Helix Up & Helix Down... but I need to get the catted version... I've already decided that those are the parts I want... I was just curious if a Divorced Wastegate will REALLY make a significant difference? If it will operate smoother given that I'm going to get the catted design, might the turbulance cause a vibration in the cabin?

Thanks for your replies folks, keep it coming if theres anything else to be known on this subject!
