Cowl's Induction anyone ???
Don't know if this has ever been covered before, but I was just curious and wanted to see if anyone has added washers to their hoods to do that Cowl's Induction thing.
I would think that it would greatly benefit the people who have TMIC's, and would make the intercooler more efficient and won't be heat soaked as much.
Anyone know if there would be any downside to adding washers to the hood to raise it an inch or two?

well.. the main problem is that you will not have a seal around your intercooler any longer and the efficiency of your hood scoop will dramatically decrease.
other then that, not too sure if it would make any difference at all.

That's exactly what I was thinking.
Air going into the hood scoop and going straight out under the hood, instead of channeling the air right on the inter cooler.

then its just like takin the air spilter off the hood scoop!
but i get what ur sayin and i know some people that have just takin the air splitter and their engine bay is alot cooler but i dont know if it helps the intercooler any!
just buy a heat shield for the turbo and it decreases the heat tremendously too.....plus it keeps the heat from going directly to the intercooler!

I actually have a chimney thing that dumps air onto the turbo. So there is no heatshield at all over the turbo.
