Confusing oil pressure readings

I just had a autometer carbon series electrical oil pressure gauge. The guy who installed it told me that the oil pressure should be between 30 to 50 psi. However the oil pressure goes upto 95 psi when I start the car and stays there for sometime. After a while it drops down to 45 psi. When I rev the gas, it goes up again.
Does this make sense to anybody ?

Yeah, normal.
Remember, your oilpump is connected to your crank, so with RPM's, the pressure goes up. That, and the temp of the oil also affects the pressure.

Oil pressure will always be high on startup, especially when the motor is cold, since the viscosity of the oil is thick. When it warms up, it'll go down. If you're a real warm-up ****, you'll wait until your oil pressure drops before you even drive the car.

Sounds like normal operating specs to me.
