Exclamation Common turbo upgrade?,,

WHat you guys using for upgrading your turbos?

I've got a TD05 which I heard alot of g'boxes going using these so not sure if i'm going to use it.

Gearboxes go out because of higher than stock power. Any aftermarket turbo is going to give you higher than stock power levels, so it's not a TD-05 specific issue.

That being said, and realizing that gearbox failures are hit or miss, the turbo you choose depends on what your goal is. A common, good upgrade is the VF series which are a direct fit. A lot of folks use the VF30/34. For higher power you can look into 18g/20g/FP Green/APS turbos.

Banging gears/hard shifting and hard launches should be avoided if you want to prolong the life of the gears/tranny.
