Chattering sound at 3k RPM
Chattering sound at 3k RPM
I've read a few of the other posts about strange sounds, but i'm still wondering if what i've got going on is normal. I've got an 02 wrx with a catless uppipe and a catless downpipe. I'm also running a Cobb AccessPort. When my engine hits right around 3000 rpm, i get a chattering sound that goes away when the car hits around 3500 rpm. Can somebody tell me if this is wastegate flutter? It seems to always be right at 3000 rpm. I've already tried changing the gas i use and using different AP maps, but same result. Thanks for the advice.
i had a 3k rattle in my gsr before too, i found out it was the heatsheild for the cats, so i removed it and no more rattle. just poke around under the car and have someone rev to 3k you'll prob find the problem.
