And By Any Chance, is there a DIY guide with pics on how to do these various fluid changes?

It's foolish to think that a companies claims to offer better protection are valid. I'm not bashing AMSOIL in particular. Assuming the claims are true, the benefits can not even be taken advantage of. Extended drain interval, forget about it, after 3k your a quart and a half low. Track your car? You put fresh oil in it before you even turn your first hop lap, by the time the day is done, your once again a quart and a half low. Filter change, there another half quart. You're wasting money on a consumable snake oil. The best thing you can do is keep it topped off and change it regularly and have analysis conducted. Start your track days with fresh clean oil in the pan, sample/dump it when you're done. Change every 3k-3.5K. Argue all you want. I've been suckered too. They say you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make them drink.

I need to stack up on amsoil again, PM what's the price. Is it better than Preferred Customer prices?

oils

When I changed my fluid, I saw all sorts of posts on the "Cocktail" and debates on how it was good, and or bad for the transmission. Some have donw oil analysis on them, and side the transmission was showing more ware than it should, and that the oil was breaking down sooner than the sugested interval.

After reading all this I went withthe Subaru Extra-S. You can bring a container to the SUbaru in Livermore, and they will sell it by the qrt (as it is usually sold by the 5 gallon bucket). that is just my 2 cents

I have to agree, the OEM Subaru fluid does a fine job of protecting the gearbox for 90k+. Why risk the chances of the wrong "cocktail"?
