CEL P1230 Help
I've checked the code and it says P1230 Fuel pump control unit malfunction. Now the car still runs and I still make plenty of power. When I drive the normal fuel pressure is higher then usual. Is there a fuel pump control unit and if so what is the part number I need to replace it? I thought it was just the ECU controlling the fuel pump by varing the pumps power flow. Also the pump doesn't pressurize the line when the car is in the on position anymore but just supplies a constant flow. My car is no longer under warrenty. Motor is a Spec C v7 and the tranny is rebuilt with RA gears.
Thanks,
Mike A

Okay there is a fuel controller on the car. Saw another post where someone is having troubles with that and a fuel relay. Now can any one help by pointing me to the location?

Unless that dc2 was force fed, or swapped with a huge motor, it wasn't even close to turbo 4 territory. The Tumble Generator Valves are located between the intake manifold and the heads. If you haven't removed them and are getting the tgv codes you should have someone examine the car that can figure out what the actual problem is. You don't want to go disabling codes if the tgvs are stuck closed.
OP: the Subaru factory service manual will tell you how to troubleshoot your problem. I don't have any personal experience with that so I can't chime in there... Google Ken Gilbert- he's got a site with all the FSMs available in PDF form.
