Ok so on my 03 wrx I had the EJ20 rebuilt about 10k miles ago. Last week it just stopped working wouldn't start engine was seized stuck not hydrolocked but stuck. Took it to the shop that rebuilt it and they tore it apart heads are good no shavings in oil and oil is good nd clean. He said the CAMSHAFT walked back. I asked if that's covered under the warranty he said he didn't know machine shop is picking up and looking at block. Does anybody know if this is something that should be warranty after a $4800 dollar rebuild? And why would it walk back? Any advise will help. TIA

My advice would be to talk to the shop who built it. Do not post on the forum who they are unless absolutely necessary.

You already know what happened so what other info do you need?

What causes this? I dunno.

 

Yeah I'm think the shop did a good job I just want to know if this would b something covered under the rebuild warranty or am I gonna have to pay? I only ask so I get a 3rd party opinion of someone with not ties to either side
