I was wondering if i needa get a cel fix when i install a new (Helix) up pipe

 

maybe maybe not. I have the same uppipe and my CEL comes on periodically but then goes away i wouldnt worry about it unless it doesn't go away. You may have to make a resistor at radio shack for it. There is a diagram on scoobymods.com for that resistor. I think they only cost about three bucks.

You will probably need one. If you buy a helix new, most of the time it will come with a fix.

i bought the same uppipe from subydude and did not get a fix.

as for the name, SOA as a company sucks their customer service is in dire need of a bullet IMHO, they voided my warranty because I had a catback exhaust and my engine blew. They said that, " a cat-back ehaust increases horsepower and therefore decreases longevity of the drivetrain". I love my car thats why i still have it but subaru truly sucks as a company. whats the point of having a warrranty if you cant use it.

All you had was a catback and they voided your warranty!? Thats bs! I would have taken them to court and fought. Because there is no way that they can prove that a catback exhaust can void your motor warranty. All the catback does is void the exhaust warranty. What did you do? Did you have to pay for a new motor? If so, what kind of motor and how much did it cost?

 

you should get a CEL fix. for the uppipe it's easy and cheap. go to radioshack or it's equivilent and pick up a 2.2k Ohms resistor.

edit: someone correct me if i'm wrong about the resistor value, but i remember it being between 2 and 2.2.
