CEL, is it Air charge temp related?
CEL, is it Air charge temp related?
I just purchased an 02 WRX. The PO had a Kaminari reverse cowl hood with no scoop because he was running a FMIC. I had to drive it home tonight 20 miles with virtually no flow to the stock TMIC that was included in the sale. I shut it down twice for a few minutes as I got gas and stopped at the store. Once I got close to my house (about 19 miles into the trip) I got a check engine light. Is there an air charge temp sensor that would trigger this if the IC was running hot? I stayed as deep into vacuum as possible and stayed away from boost the entire ride. Please let me know what you guys think for a n00b. Thanks...

The best way to find out is to pull the CEL. Here are some possibilities:
P0111
Intake air temperature sensor circuit range/performance problem
P0112
Intake air temperature sensor circuit low input
P0113
Intake air temperature sensor circuit high input
But I'm pretty sure that the intake air temp sensor is upstream of the turbo. Check this thread for more CEL codes:

It's gotta be one of these.
