Question Blitz BOV Adjustment?

Hello all. I put on a Blitz BOV (non recirc.) on my 04 WRX yesterday (only becuase I got for a good deal). Is it normal for it to only make noise at 4000 rpm's & above? Today I noticed whats sounds like a little waste gate flutter. I can only hear it when I shift before 4000 rpm's. I have had my U.P. & D.P. on for about 2 months now have never heard this before! Could this have anything to do w/ the Blitz BOV? I'm pretty sure there is a way to adjust this BOV, but not sure how (got it used w/ about 500 miles on it). I asked the previous owner about adjustment, but he said that if I adjust it to make noise sooner it wouldn't hold the preasure at top end! Is this true? Do I need to adjust it? If so, how should I do so? BTW, I'm running stock boost. Any info would help. Thanks.

Will.

Come on! Does anybody want to take a stab at it? Some people told me that this flutter sound is most likely compresor surge from not releasing the air. I took the Blitz BOV and ran it w/ the stock BOV, & it didn't make the noise. What can I do to make this thing work correctly? Please help.

Okay, so heres the scoop! I backed the adjustment screw out, and that didn't do much. So I contacted Blitz, & they make these kits w/ 2 different springs (regular, which is good for up to 16-17 psi, & a heavier spring which is intended for applications of 18+ psi). The kit that I have came w/ the heavier spring rate spring, which is too mch since I'm still running stock boost. So with this in mind, I temparely modified the spring inside so there wouldn't be as much tension on it. This greatly improved the perfomance of the BOV. The BOV now opens alot sooner & I can barely hear the flutter sound! While under the hood, I have to put my ear to the air box in order to hear the flutter sound. So w/ this in mind, I have aready ordered the regular (lighter) spring for this BOV. With what I've learned, this should do the trick!
So if anyone has any other info to add, please feel free.

Will.
