i'd flash after you get some parts. that way you don't have to go tune it again.

actually i was thinking of doing the up and down pipe first. along with the exhaust system. i was told by my tuner that it would be a substantial increase to do these three at once. also , anyone take the silencer out of their intake yet? any noticeable difference? i was also told about aftermarket headers because an o4's are so restrictive.. any truth to that??

thanks and good hunting,
todd

Boost control. I have the apexi avc-r electronic one, works awsome and gives me around 20 hp. a downpipe and catback will give you about 30 hp as well

The stock crank pulley doesn't have one either.

You don't want to do that on the 04s. You'll get PTFB and with the open-closed loop delay on the 04 ecu you'll get very high EGTs.

First power mods: Uppipe, Downpipe, IC Hoses, Engine Management, Axle/Cat-Back, Lightened (not underdriven) Pulley.

First suspension mods: Tires, Rear sway bar, Endlinks, Springs.

Dont seem to have any problems with running 16 psi on the electronic boost control on the 04 so Im not sure what your talking about. Many people have ran them on 04's without any problems and when only running +2 psi, 1 under cutoff, I think I will be just fine

Are you monitoring your EGTs? High EGTs won't normally kill your engine out right but they can reduce the engine's longevity. On the 04s you really should monitor your EGTs if you have a boost controller. The best option is a reflash/utec if you want to alter boost levels, IMO.

so its been a long while since the 04s been out. I'm new and thinking i'll be getting a WRX 04. I've search but its hard to research because you can't just search results for "04". My question is whats with the ECU and upgraded turbos, uppipes, downpipes, catless exhaust? CEL fixes? From what i've been reading MBCs/EBCs are a NO for 2004s.

an "undo" button on the dash which you can press as soon as you see flashing lights behind you?
