why spend the money on a boost controller when you can tune everything with the current ECU?

To answer your question mike, a good EBC is the Profec B made by Greddy. I have seen numerous tests on these and they give out good results. They are, however, harder to set and need someone with experience to set them. The reason why they are better than other EBC out there is that the Profec B shows very little boost spike when set correctly.
If you do decide to get your ECU reflashed, I suggest getting it tuned after most of your mods are in place. They reflash according to your mods. If you continue to add new mods, you would have to get it retuned to get the most power out of them. If you're experienced enough and planning to add never-ending parts to your car, get a EBC and a piggyback controller or a standalone and tune yourself. If your not a professional, go to one and get it tuned right and not blow up your motor.
Happy tuning!
