Engine/Power - EJ20T (pre-2006 WRX and JDM) There is replacement for displacement, it is forced induction - OEM 2.0 liter turbo engines in the USDM WRX. 90-94 Legacy Turbo EJ22 turbo engines can also be discussed here.

Any suggestions?? (exhaust)

My stromung exhaust is most definitly one of the things that I'd buy again if I were to 'do up' another Subie...no doubt.

I'm with Uncle Scotty on this one, IMO the Stromung is the best out there if you want the oe look and great sound. Unlike Uncle Scotty I do have to polish off minor surface rust from time to time.

If you want a nice sounding twin tip to use with the stock down pipe go with the Stromung. You will not be unhappy.

If you want a loud twin tip go with the old Perrin setup. But if you wait for a bit they will be coming out with a new less loud setup. Redesigned twin tip and rear pipe resonator.

But like I said the Stromung cat back is very nice.

Just wondering?

You guys who have the Perrin cat back...which dp are you using?

It seems like there are only a few cat-back/dp combo's that work with the Perrin system.

I had the Perrin DP and Stromung cat back and the set up just didn't work. Something to do with the angle of the Perrin DP. So I ended up selling the 3" Stromung and getting the Perrin cat back and of course had no problems with any interferences or leaking. But I loved the sound of the Stromung! The Perrin is just evil loud!

Here is a video/sound clip: Perrin Turbo Back Exhaust (catless)(right-click, save as) (it's a .mpg file but you may have to add the extension to the file name???)[7.12mb]

I bought a full 3” Stromung cat back to bolt to my 3" DP/midpipe and I don’t like the design of the intermediate section, here are some poor quality pic’s https://www.i-club.com/forums/attach...chmentid=32836 https://www.i-club.com/forums/attach...chmentid=32837 . Do you know if the Stromung CB that is made to bolt to the oe DP/midpipe has a flex joint and dent like mine. AFAIK it doesnt.

I say..... DC Sports Stainless Turbo Downpipe from wiredspeed.com, then part out the rest. Its FREEEEEEEEEE as of right now, they are charging $0.00 for the part. Can they go back on it? Who knows. Might be false advertising though..... Or even better, go for their TYPE-R CAT-BACK EXHAUST, also provided free of charge

Yeah I originally went with the 2.5" setup. When I switched to the 3" Stromung cat-back it didn't fit right, but it never had a flat spot like yours.

They changed the design recently. I was under the impression that I was going to get the intermediate pipe pictured on flashNdash’s Stromung thread but I got something totally different and since flashNdash doesn’t do exchanges or returns I’m stuck with it. I wish I would have ordered it a couple months earlier.
