Engine/Power - EJ20T (pre-2006 WRX and JDM) There is replacement for displacement, it is forced induction - OEM 2.0 liter turbo engines in the USDM WRX. 90-94 Legacy Turbo EJ22 turbo engines can also be discussed here.

Any suggestions?? (exhaust)

If you had the choice which cat-back would u get, perrin twin tip or greddy evo2?? my cars completely stock. i like the look of the twin tip cause im not for gay ricey looking cars and i always like a nice stock looking car over a flashy chromed out car and the perrin just looks stock. i had the evo2 on my civic before the car got stolen and the evo2 just sounded like a nice genuine exhaust. not too loud and it didnt drone on the highway. any suggestions are greatly aprreciated, thanx.

I believe the Evo2 is one of the quietest, and except for wagons, shouldn't drone on the highway. No experience w/ Perrin exhaust but they do make quality products.

The Perrin twin tip is sweet. That's what I have on my car, but it is loud as hell.

The perrin is a really nice exhaust but it is very loud and it drones a bit too.

If you have always liked the oem looking exhaust then you should try to get your hands on an sti muffler and then maybe do some custom piping. thats what i would do.

Perrin all the way, but I'm a twin tip *****. What's the point in looking modded? Either way you're bound to attract attention, one from the look, one from the sound.

Borla Hush is an alternative.

The Stromung twin tip is great.....sounds just lovely

...and my Stromung has no rust in over 2 years use...a little surface discoloration on the bottom of the can where it has scraped...but that's it.

My stromung exhaust is most definitly one of the things that I'd buy again if I were to 'do up' another Subie...no doubt.

can anyone exapnd on this comment? I have a wagon which I have purchased Helix U/D(catless) pipes for and still need to choose a catback. I was considering the GReddy Evo2. prefer it to look as near to stock as possible and do NOT want something loud.

Was also leaning strongly towards the Borla Hush (though it would require welding an adapter from 3" Helix DP to 2 1/2" Borla mid-pipe.

I'd like to know also, how would a wagon be different than a sedan?

I had a perrin twin tip cat back for a while. Didn't care for it too much. It would appear that I own the weirdest WRX out there. The straight pipe was banging against my floor board(right in front of the hanger) and was really annoying. I tried to move it away from the floor board and then the rear section was banging against my rear diff. I couldn't win no matter what I did. I ended up trading it out for a completely different exhaust. I haven't had a problem since.

I have the Perrin twin tip and I was having the same problem as Taerron stated. I took it to an exhaust shop and they put a slight bend in the piping to fix the contact issue. I have since gone with a catless uppipe, downpipe and high flow third cat section and it is loud as hell now. Some people think that it is annoyingly loud, but I kind of like it. If you do not want LOUD, don't get Perrin. Just my .02

Very interesting.... The shop I bought the exhaust from contacted perrin and was assured us that they have never seen that problem before. Thats funny, they blamed my car for the fitment issue. Thanks for informing me of this too
