Anyone ever got this? i added the boost controller that morning, pull was awesome, specially on 1st gear... well anyways, later that night, during normal driving....check engine light came on, i was just cruising on 3rd gear around 2,800rpms when it popped up... could the boost controller have caused this? any clue guys? this happened to anyone bfore? i'm gonna be stoppin by this place tomorrow morning that has those obd scanner things to get what the code is, but just wanted to know if anyone has expericence this? and no i did not overboost, i was cruising at granny speeds/rpms... thanks for the info guys..

 

oh yea, boost controller is joe p, and i shortened the vacuum tubes as SHORT AS POSSIBLE. boost was set at 15lbs....

 

yes i would find out the code tomorrow when i go to that auto store that offers that code scanning for free.... but just wanted to see if anyone experience this.... I know with honda, u can put a clip in the service connector and it'll give u the code, but i dont think subaru has that, or do they?!?

 

I really made sure i was drivin granny style all day, shifted early, accelerated slowly.... with the exception of setting up the boost, I was pretty much at vacuum levels 99% of the day... when it came on, i would say i was close to 0 boost, around -1,-2 of vacuum... i know i'll find out tomorrow, but it'd b nice to sleep knowin what caused it, heheh...

 

what does the code mean? I actually resetted the ecu that night, and after 25 mins of very slow driving to work the next morning( with no hard driving after the reset), it came on when i was cruising.... men, this is really buggin me, thanks for the replies though, any1 else experience this?

 

It probably detected a vaccuum leak from the MBC. Does it have a bleeder hole in the controller itself? If it does then that is probably where the cel came from.

 

i had 2 codes, but it was the same kind.. I can't find the piece of paper i wrote it on, but im 80% sure i had 2 p0420's.... I do remember what the guy said though, "catalyst efficiency below threshold somethin... bank1.." Oh well, im happi, i have 0 cats so im not worried....

i do have the cel fix resistor though from helix (running both up/down pipe from helix), so i dont know why it started poppin up after i got the boost controller on... Anyways, im glad thats the only code its putting out.... they resetted it, but came on again right before i got home from work... im gonna have them scan the code again tomorrow just to be sure, n will prob b checkin up to see if the resistor fell off or somethin... ANyways, im WAAAY RELIEVED... THANKS for all the replies though. now if i can only get rid of this cel for the cats now... arrgghhh

 

YES I HAVE THAT, i guess i could check if its fried or fell off or somethin, but im kinda doubting that.. anyone ever had teh cell fix but the light stayed on?
