3 inch turbo inlet, hard or silicone??

Hey i-club, I'm looking for some opinions here and personal experience is much appreciated as well. I am in the market for a 3 inch turbo inlet for my stock mount gt3076r. Concerns are fitment (I have done TGV deletes and will be installing the 8mm Grimmspeed at the same time) and heat. It seems to me the hard inlet hose would conduct a lot more heat than silicone. Of course the silicone "could theoretically" collapse. Thoughts? Ready...GO!

I had a hard AMR 3" inlet on my fp green, it was a total pita to install, but once it was in worked great, it is made out of thick material much like the APS intakes. I only had 3mm phenolic spacers, but the issue wasn't height, width was with the inlet touching the TGV housing.

I had a perrin v1 inlet that collapsed on the dyno when tuning my old green in another wrx, put in the reinforced v2 and didn't have any problems again.

I would probably go with the hard inlet again even with the hassle of installing it. Just take your time and tighten things up slowly in different areas as you go.

Just my .02 cents.

Thats what I was leaning towards, just wasn't sure about the heat. I just pulled the coolant return lines off of my cobb intake and fastened them out of the way so they no longer contact it and my intake temps dropped significantly from what I have seen so far driving around today. Or maybe i just didn't get stuck at as many lights on my way to/from work...anyway I do like my intake temps nice and cool but it seems like no one else has any complaints about that. I'll just let my intercooler do its job
