2nd blown viscous coupler in <15,000miles - WTF?!?!?
Its been a while since ive posted anything on the forums, but this issue warrants an expert (or 2 or 10) opinion.
i have a 2002 WRX Wagon with 53K miles on it, 30K since i bought it used a year ago. I bought it used from a Dealer in NJ, and the previous owner had installed a WRSport exaust/up pipe/down pipe that was still on the car.
now the problem...
At 39000 miles, the Viscuous Coupler blew. The Dealer in VT (not the one i bought it from) wouldnt cover it under warranty due to the aftermarket exaust on the car (regardless of the fact i bought it from a Dealer in NJ AND was sold the extended warranty - that a WHOLE other story) so 3 weeks later i get the Viscuous Coupler replaced for 1/2 what the dealer was going to charge me at a credited Subaru repair place here in VT.
now, 14000 miles later, the Viscuous Coupler that was just reaplaced is SLIPPING AGAIN! Anyone have any idea what could be causeing this part to keep breaking? I take care of my car and dont drive it agressively. Standard/average speed and acceleration etc.
HELP!

i would mirror uncle scotty thought about the tire size or the posibility that either the front or read diff is borked (or one of the axels)
haveing recently shattered the spider gears in my car i can tell you what a huge load on the center diff is when one of the two diffs is borked

got the car back from the shop today. it wasnt the VC as thought, but the rear axles 'popped' out of the rear dif, and were occasionally slipping. It felt just like when my VC went the first time.
Aparentlly the rear axles just pop into the rar dif with a clip, and are sort of held in with pressure (that and a small clip) The guy that worked on it said that the rear sway bar might have caused it by making the rear end too rigid. That seems REALLY unlikelly, but who knows.
Anyone?
