2005 WRX stalls when put in clutch.

I cant figure out my my WRX stalls it does it only like 3-4 times a week. I will be in traffic or just running around town. I put the clutch in to down shift and the rpm's just fall all the way off. sometimes the RPM's will hit 0 then bounce back up but most of the time i have to restart the car. I have no idea whats going on. Anyone got any ideas.

I have up and down pipe catless, access port stage 2, intake. I have had the car check in two shops for vac leaks and they found nothing. This boggles my mind.

I came across the same problem and I'm running a catless dp only. Since you have an access port on stg2 it might be the intake that is causing the problem. Most like a Protune and a good maintenance should do the trick. (I think, hope that helps)

It could be your IAC valve is faulty, you have a vacuum leak,
or your car needs to be tuned.
If anything that intake is leaning your car out without being
properly tuned.

Old thread, but only one I've seen that relates to my problem

I've had my 2003 WRX for a few months now, it was misfiring for a bit so I changed the coil packs and plugs a few days ago (desperately needed done, 162k miles) and today it did the same thing as your 05. When cruising sometimes when I'd clutch to downshift or stop, it would die, other times it would barely save itself. I'm getting a little worried and was just wondering if any of you ever found a fix or isolated the problem. Thanks much!
