i think will now have to purchase the block off the sti along with the drivetrain i was already planning for

i cant wait for the aftermarket to start producing kits for the redesign too. i can see a front end conversion in the near future happening to my car

from what it looks like on one of the pictures is that it will be in the 7500 to 8500 range. Now I understand why Subaru didn't want to give us any details for a long time. They were waiting for Mitsubishi to spill the beans so they can come out right after and take them out of the game. Nice plan.

just a guess, really. Seeing as it's a 2.5L, and by looking at the picture of the tach, the neddle is at 7k, with the shift light on(you can definitely tell 8k is red). Just my opinion though

The shift light is user-settable and usually you shift before you hit redline. It will likely have a 8k redline.

An 8,000 RPM redline would be schweet!

My main concern with this motor is the strength. The 2.5 block has a reputation for having thin cylinder walls. That is what Alex told me anyway.

It would be very sweet to pull the 2.5 shorty and replace it with a 2.4l stroked and built factory closed ej22! That ECU should drive it nicely.

I am also not too high on the avcs. For a stock car it is awesome, but I hear that they HATE mods! Because the engagement point is continuously variable.

I wonder it is the standard EJ207 GDB heads, or if they are different. If they are the same, that would be awesome...that means they will bolt on to a ej20! I also wonder about the block...is it your standard semi closed STi block...or did they leave it open to save cash. What is the CR on this bad boy?

This really opens so many doors for all subaru peeps. I am so thankful...they gave us the real deal, and then some. It is about time! After funking us with the 5MT for 2 years.

Well done FHI...for giving us an awesome car!
