Engine/Power - EJ20T (pre-2006 WRX and JDM) There is replacement for displacement, it is forced induction - OEM 2.0 liter turbo engines in the USDM WRX. 90-94 Legacy Turbo EJ22 turbo engines can also be discussed here.

1991 ej22t Swap/rebuild

I'll make the intro quick as I am new here 11/23/08

I have a '95 impreza w?1.8 lookin to possibly convert to a 2.0 t motor but due to econmy couldnt let myself do it so while looking through the salvage yard came across a 91 legacy w/ej22t motor for short $ and figured ok this will work, did my research & then realised what I came across or the potencial
So now to my questions : (1) can I use a different ecm meaning newer to make it OBD II comatable (for ease of tunning) (2) Where do I find a tunning shop who can burn & or tune a OBD I ECM "chip style" ecm to accomadate the slight mod I am looking to make RE: intercooler ,Larger up/down pipes ,Hi-flo cat etc.So when done it will run right as I am very fussy, about anythinig I do and want it right or not at all, If not Why bother?
Please some guideance, Jay
