02 wrx engine swap

i own a 02 wrx and i am looking at a 03 wrx engine and trans on ebay! what would i need to swap engines and trans in my car. it comes with the ecu, and whole engine. could i just put the 03 engine in and the ecu. would the ecu work with the wiring harness? thanks a lot guys and gals

Why would you want to swap they are the same engine?

If there's nothing wrong with your 02 engine, then it's a waste of money IMO.

well if you really think that its worth replacing then all you have to do is take one out and put the other in and reconnect everything...

yes i did, a couple times. just want to sell now! so figured this would be the easiest for me and most cost effective! i can put the motor in myself, i just am not confident in my abilities to rebuild it myself, already tried that and worked for a little bit, and something happened. its being diagnosed right now!

This has most likely been asked, but would an sti motor and trans and ecu be a direct drop in for my 02 wrx? Would the sti trans bolt directly up to my 02 motor? What else would be involved in these if anything?
