Engine/Power - EJ20T (pre-2006 WRX and JDM) There is replacement for displacement, it is forced induction - OEM 2.0 liter turbo engines in the USDM WRX. 90-94 Legacy Turbo EJ22 turbo engines can also be discussed here.

$500 to spend on engine mods, suggestions?

You will get the most significant power gains from that setup, I would say reflash, but then your mbc would be useless, for some reflashes you don't have the prequisite mods to get that reflash, so going catless is a good choice, you will definetly feel the difference, your turbo will spool up much much quicker. Up pipe and Downpipe are probably one of the best mods you can do for a WRX
