What should be my next mod?
So I've got my 03 WRX about 1 month. Waited a month to get in the up-pipe, in the meantime I tinted the windows and read up on other stuff to do. Goal is to bump boost quickly and improve handling. Now that I've put in the STI up-pipe, which should come next?
1. Rota subzero 17" rims with Continental ContiExtremeContact, about $900 total. (see http://www.tirerack.com/survey/Surve...ExtremeContact for reviews on tires).
2. Turboback, from Cobb, about $575.
3. Cobb ECU reflash.
4. Downpipe- which one? TurboXS, or Invidia ($370)?
Thanks from a newbie.

Next your exhuast, then the reflash to take advantage of the exhuast mods. Rear sway-bar is a good idea too.

As for bumping up boost, don't worry about that until you get a new turbo and all pipes, except maybe headers.

Any suggestions as to who I should buy the Turboback from? I'm inclined toward the HKS based on the data from http://turbomagazine.com/tech/0212tur_exhaust which shows the Cobb and HKS seem to be the best for the $. Actually looking at it again I'm thinking the Cobb might be better, it's a little cheaper.

As I noted in the wheels & tires forum, I went with new wheels/tires (Rota 17" Subzero + ContiExtremeContact 215s.) Cost was $975, see that forum for details. So thanks for the "next mod" advice.
For budgetary reasons I won't be looking at the next mod until mid-June.
Am highly tempted to pick up a TurboXS Stealth or the full downpipe/muffler swap, which'll run up to $1200.
The swaybar is a lot more affordable it seems. Maybe I'll swing for that. I'm thinking 19mm.

I Have The TXS Turbo back and Up Pipe. and I have Nothing Bad to say.
they are a little Pricy but xs stands by their product 100% and will give you all the info you need on anything you purchase from them. Ie: Install, Q's and A's Etc. Plus ALL of their stuff is all Bolt on No Mods.
The Stock XS Muffler Sounds a bit Bubbly so I would Suggest a Different Muffler (HKS.)
Hope I Could Help!

I have a feeling that I'm NOT gonna stay on budget for these mods. I feel like one of those compulsive gamblers.

[i]Rear sway-bar is a good idea too.

Are these the same as "sway bars"? Is the install reasonably straightforward? Are these reasonable investments if you'd like to breeze effortlessly through corners on the way to the mountains but you're not into racing?
