uppipe advice welcome
I'm fixing to do away with my pre-cat with an uppipe from HKS. Before I dig into it, can anyone who has installed one tell me the best way to get to the stock uppipe? It looks pretty jammed in there. It looks like the header needs to drop, turbo and power steering removed, and heat shielding. Any advice or "beware of's" would be appreciated.

Go to:
http://www.vishnu-performance.com/downloads.htm
and download the up-pipe file. Everything is in there
Beware that this is rather sophisticated job. Took me about 8 hours.
Good luck

I just put my up and down pipe on this weekend. It took just over five hours. Go from underneath to remove the up pipe I recommend you use the PDE up pipe better quality than others. If you follow the PDE instructions you should not have a problem. You might want to get a socket wrench with a swivel head this will help with the tight areas also its a good idea to have a torque wrench.

perrin is the way fo go
look i did the install my self in my dads shop(uppipe) i did the down pipe in my back yard. the uppipe was tricky, it helps if you have a friend and some jack stands and a good jack(2 would be nice) the uppipe took about 2hr of work but i was there about 5 hr. its not hard at all, just have some long extension for you sockets ,o2 sensor tool, and some metric tools. i went with the perrin, it has the best directions by far and i hove no leaks. i went with the invidia downpipe, now that one has some fitting problems, it rubs the cross member and one of the brackets did not line up. i did contact them and they sent me a new one but it was the same deal. what i did to fix the problem was to cut away a small peice of my cross member(not big at all ) and put a heat shielded rubber peice in between the two. its works fine and i have come to love down pipe. the downpipe took me about 2 hr the fist time but the second time it took me 45 min(heat sheld is a b%@ch). its not realy hard if you like doing this kind of stuff plus you know it is done right. people do not all ways do good jobs on other people cars

No my turbo has no exploded and their is no performance difference
did you say there was NO performance gain. WELL let me tall ya-mine is a bottle rocket now. by my butt dyno i would have to say at least 10hp. here is the butt dyno formula
(neck thrown back )(5)=hp
neck went back 2"
2x5=10hp
