Turbo Timers?

I just bought a 2002 WRX and I wanted to know if the turbo timer will prolong the life of the engine, how it does it, if it does and what one to buy. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

You don't need a turbo timer on the stock turbo. It vents its heat through the car's cooling system. They're a good idea on aftermarket turbos, though.

you can pretty much buy any turbo timer you want for your car, they all do the same thing. Its all base on your style and the look you want.

would u have to use a turbo time on a vf22 or vf34?

Car Info: dangerous with a wrench

instead of spending the money on a turbo timer, just sit in the car and let the engine idle for an extra 20-30 seconds. Same effect.

any oil cooled turbo should have a turbo timer.

All turbochargers are oil cooled and lubricated. Some are also cooled by the engine's cooling system, as in the case of the WRX (and all other late-model Subarus). There are lines for both oil and coolant that connect to the factory turbo.
