I'm going to ask it again since no one will answer me.. Can I do this on a 4EAT?

I tried it tonight and the car felt like **** after! I lost a full second! I knew right after I did "the trick" that the car felt slower! I'd assume I didn't do it right and according to my SBC-ID I wasn't getting 2~4 PSI at 2500 or 2600.

I have a unichip will it work if the unichip is plugged in? will it work with the unichip?

Jon

Folks, you do not do this from a stop. You do this while rolling, in 3rd gear, at 2600rpm. Then, you need to do a little left-foot breaking while carefully applying power to maintain the 2600rpm while building 2-4 pounds of boost for 5 seconds. You have to push down gently on the break with your left foot, and then carefully modulate the brake AND throttle to maintain the 2600rpm and 2-4 pounds of boost. It sounds hard, but if you are at all familiar with left foot breaking, and especially trail breaking, it should be EZ.

Sorry, no, it doesn't work in an automatic because you can't build up enough engine load at that low rpm.

Why wouldn't it be? It doesn't create any excessive stresses on the car.

i know this is an old post, but simply driving a few blocks in D will advance your IAM very quickly on a 4EAT.

Not sure. I would guess yes, but that's a good question for David in the Vishnu forum.

If you've recently changed your battery...depending on your driving style and the quality of gas you've had in your car of late, it could very well be that your ECU has already "learned" to advance the timing.
