Unhappy need assistance with engine mangement

i have a 94 Ej18 and i need to find some form of engine management so i could tune it a little further. it would help me get a little more performance before i go the boosted route. should i get a system like the Apexi AFC, or the HKS variant, or should i get a whole new ECU? any help would be great.

California.

For EJ18, there is not much you can do with engine management.
AFC will adjust the fuel but still it doesnt touch the ignition timing..
If I were you, Id lighten the flywheel and change the final gear ratio. I think its more effective.
On EJ18, exhaust will make a whole lot of difference too.

You could use AFC and MSD w/boost retard option
AFC = adjust fuel
MSD = retard timing based on boost

Thats about the only way I can think of for your EJ18
