Question how to tell if its reflashed

Well i bought my car used and the only obvious things the previous owner did was an up pipe and a turbo back. I just ordered my UTEC and it occured to me that i dont know if he had it reflashed or not. Is there anyway for me to tell if he had this done or not outside of sending my ECU somewhere? I dont want to hook up my UTEC and blow some stuff up cause it was flashed already.

Mastro out in Florida does reflashes and maybe able to tell you if yours is reflashed. I don't know where they are in relation to you, but it's worth a shot: http://www.mastrowrx.com

Other than checking with a tuner who has the ability to flash ECU's, I don't know of anyway for the end user to verify the flash. You can also check on the ECUtek forums: http://www.ecutek.com

The dealership you bought your car from maybe be able to put you in contact with the previous owner, and he should be able to answer any questions you have.

maybe by installing a boost gauge to see where the psi is at? If it was reflashed, then the psi #'s would be a little higher than the stock 13.5 (almost sure this is the stock pressure), right?

The boost could be higher just due to the aftermarket turboback exhaust or there could be something like a manual boost controller that Smooth_EJ20 didn't see in his inspection. So, while higher boost could be good indication of a reflashed ECU, it may not be a definite one.

How does adding a turbo-back increase the psi?
