Hesitation at stop lights
When I drive off at stop lights, I experience hesitation and really have to floor it to get moving. Why is that? Could it be my EGR valve? How do I check if it is good?
I recently replaced spark plugs and dist. rotor (but not cap or plug wires yet). Could that have anything to do with it?
Could it be timing?
Once it gets going, it's just fine.

Hesitation
The cure for hesitation is out there, but I can't tell you about it.

Tell you, I'm new to WRXs but I have been pretty underwhelmed with what the car does before the turbo kicks in. I've had to adopt a new (and a little bit gas-wasting) driving style of trying to keep the car at > ~2000 rpm as much as possible so that if I need to close a gap or whatever on the road the car will do what I ask. This is the one downside to the WRX, and a small one in the great scheme of things.
This is one reason I'm doing so many mods is in part to get the car to crank it up at lower rpm. No, not the only reason. I also like to embarass the occasional vette or boxster once in awhile, for sport.
