If you're having boost spikes, creep, or just tapped it in wrong, you're going to get incorrect readings.

Do you have an electronic gauge or mechanical gauge?

it is a mechanical gauge, not spike or creep(if i understant creep properly), it is only when the car is at idle i get a fluctuation in the needle, thanks

Well the direction given with the gauge said install it between the surge tankand the fuel pressure regulator, but i seen subaru installation from their service manual for the boost gauge and the said off the hose from the blow off, which is where i see most people puttin git anyways, the only directions i did not follow is using the orifice wiht the gauge, this weekend when i have time i am going to bet some new hose to try and make the orifice fit and see what hapens then

just an update, put the omori Y-joint in and its works fine now, no fluctuation. ahint to those who do purchase, the hose supplied with the gauge can fit into the hose from the blow off, if you want to do it that way

Acceptable reading for vacuum is 17-22 inHg so you seem fine, however mine gives me a constant reading of 20 (unless A/C is on then it drops) but as far as how much boost you are seeing, in third and sometimes second depending on how fast i am already rolling i see up to 14psi, but in first i only get about 10-11

if i am not mistaken max boost comes in at about 6000 rom (give or take on a stock car) and then drops off a little, but you should be seeing the stock 13.5 punds of boost, maybe you have a leak somewhere

its going to be pretty hard to get 14 psi's on a stock car. normally the max psi's are in the 13's.
