HELP!: AP connection issue

I'm trying to connect my accessport to my computer but every time I try to sync with pc, my computer says "Accessport communication failed (5b4) Is port in sync mode?"
I have ap v1.3 and I have no idea why it's doing this.

Yeah did that. I've read all the trouble shooting and what not but I cant get it to connect. I bought the connecter (db9) to connect the AP to my computer from radio shack, I don't know if that would matter or not.

If you can't get the cable working let me know, I could come by later tonight maybe(9pm or later), or tomorrow afternoon.

Mcdrama- Whenever you can come, it doesn't matter. I'll pay you for your time too. If you do come tonight, give me a call.

Lazy- What do you mean by serial port? and yes I have the com port setup correctly and there are no other devices plugged into my computer. For the record, I have tried installing the cobb software on three different computers, all of which gave the same error.

I think your problem is the cable. Its not a standard serial cable. Check with Cobb for the specifications on the cable and get the correct one.

Thanks

when I first connected mine, I had to have the map software search all the ports on the computer to find the AP

I fixed the issue, it turns out it was the cable. The cable I had wasnt a null modem cable.
